Curaçao thrives on foreign exchange income
from tourism, services and family transfers from Holland part of which
finances imports (90% of everything that's consumed on the island
is imported and because of this Curaçao one of the three largest
importers of U.S. goods in the Caribbean ).
The government derives most of its revenues from personal and corporate
taxes, a 5% turnover tax and social premiums. |
