Work Force and High Standard of Living
Curaçao's population enjoys an average annual income of the
equivalent of US$ 14,000 per annum which is reflected in the relatively
high standard of living. Most of the 52.000 active workers are employed
in the consumer services sector, the hospitality sector, the financial
and business services sector, and construction, manufacturing and
oil industry, and another 8000 are registered as unemployed. The literacy
rate is above 90% and as previously mentioned, most speak at least
four languages. |
